Vera Clay is the former Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Women’s Services in Louisiana, and also served as Director of the Department of Health and Human Services in St. Tammany Parish. Ms. Clay has worked in affordable housing in Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Louisiana, California and Mississippi; and a NeighborWorks America organization in New Orleans. Ms. Clay has a Bachelor of Arts in Education, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership. She moved to Asheville in August of 2016, and currently serves as Program Resources Coordinator for Community Action Opportunities (CAO). When Ms. Clay is not working on securing funding, donations and human capital for CAO, she enjoys reading, hiking, exercising at the YMCA, and gardening, now that she has moved into her new home!
