President, CEO of Moog Music
Mike Adams, current President and CEO of Moog Music (since May 2002), is a 1979 graduate of NC State University’s Mechanical Engineering program. Following school Mike spent 12 years with Square D Company, culminating in his final position as Operations Manager for a 350,000 square foot facility employing over 700 people in Asheville, N.C. In addition to Square D, Mike worked at a number of large and small firms mostly in Sales & Marketing. Immediately prior to Mike’s tenure with Moog Music, he was Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing with an acquisition-oriented, mid-size electronic component manufacturer, CII Technologies, which was sold in January of 2002 to Tyco.
Under Mike’s guidance Moog has grown from a small niche player in the musical instrument market to a company with international presence in over 50 countries, an ever broadening portfolio of products, and the number one analog synth manufacturer in the world. For three years in a row (2012 – 2014), Moog Music was recognized as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the country by INC Magazine. In June of 2015, Mike sold half the company to the employees of Moog Music thru an ESOP. A move designed to reward the many long tenured employees and one that will secure the future of the company and its employees.
