Donnetta Collier’s non-profit housing and community development work started over 29 years ago working with several nonprofits (community development corporations – CDC’s) in Boston and Cambridge Massachusetts. After moving to Charlotte, NC in 1996 she worked at the Grier Heights Economic Foundation (a community based CDC) and as the Charlotte Director of Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) whose primary goal is to build strong, healthy neighborhoods in urban and rural areas nationwide through affordable homeownership. Donnetta joined the Self-Help staff in 2000 as a mortgage loan officer and moved into her current position as a Project Manager on the real estate team 13 years ago. She currently manages the development of a small housing subdivision named Elizabeth Heights located in the Grier Heights community –Charlotte NC. In 2018 Donnetta joined the Development, Policy and Impact team (DPI), part time, to increase Self-Helps presence and build and maintain relationships with the Charlotte community. This position includes raising mission-aligned deposits.
Donnetta has a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University – Boston, MA in Business Management and an Associates Degree in Human Resources. She holds several certifications including. The National Development Council’s Housing, Rental Housing, and Economic Finance Professional, a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University and her Six Sigma Green Belt. She is a licensed Real Estate Broker.
