Carmen Ramos-Kennedy hails from New York City and lived in southern California where she and her husband Bruce raised their two daughters. She and Bruce took to the road in 2005 to tour the contiguous US in 40ft motorcoach and tow vehicle. After two-years, they settled in Asheville in 2007. A political campaign professional, Carmen has managed several winning campaigns in the city and county. She has also worked on state and national campaigns. The members of the Asheville-Buncombe County Branch NAACP elected Carmen president in Sept 2015. She serves as co-chair of the Mountain People’s Assembly, on the board of Pack Place, the Advisory Committee of the Campaign for Southern Equality and is a founding member and chair of Asheville Living Treasures committee. In addition, she serves on the East End / Valley Street Neighborhood Association Executive Committee and the Racial Justice Coalition.
