Vice Pres. Lending, NCIF

Anna is the Senior Vice President/Director of Lending for Natural Capital Investment Fund (NCIF).  NCIF is an affiliate of The Conservation Fund, a non-profit based in Arlington, VA that focuses on land and water conservation. NCIF’s focus is to lend to businesses that have products and services which are in the following sectors: Value-added & sustainable agriculture, Renewable energy & fuels, Sustainable forestry & forest products, Eco- and heritage tourism, Recycling & water conservation, Green Building, Cleantech & environmental services, Natural medicines, Energy efficiency, and Local Food Systems. NCIF’s geographic region includes states in the Appalachian region: North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio. Anna graduated from Wake Forest University in 1988 with a BA in Political Science and Spanish. In 1992, she received a MPP degree from Duke University’s Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy where she focused her studies in applied economics and public policy studies. Prior to joining NCIF, Anna worked with Self-Help Ventures Fund for 10 years as a Senior Lender. Self-Help’s mission is to create wealth and economic opportunity. At Self-Help, Anna worked with the SBA 504 program and helped arrange joint financing between local banks and the SBA so that small business owners could purchase large fixed assets such as buildings and heavy manufacturing equipment. She also worked with the SBA 7A and microloan programs. Prior to joining Self-Help, she worked as an economist and a budget analyst in the North Carolina State Office of Budget and Management during the administration of Governor Jim Hunt. Anna is a member of the Women’s Professional Forum, based in Greensboro, NC, and a board member/treasurer of the SG Atkins CDC, based in Winston-Salem, NC. She recently joined the board of CEI Financing, LLC SBA 7A financing program, based in Maine.
